Instructions for smudging inside.
How to smudge your house to clear negative energy
1. Gather matches or candle, small bowl filled with sand and a fan. Opened all doors & windows before lighting stick. So the negativity and smoke has a pathway out.
2. Take a moment before you start and focus on purifying & releasing negativity from your space. Visualize what you want to clear out and how you want to feel after the clearing is done.
3. When ready, light the end of the stick using your match or candle, and let it burn for about 20-30 seconds. After that, gently blow out the flame so you see orange embers on the end. The smoke should be a steady stream but not be excessive.
4. Slowly walk around your space giving special attention to dark corners, and high traffic spaces, allow the smoke to waft around. Guiding the smoke towards the open windows or a door, so the smoke and negativity can escape. As you chant see negativity leaving the space and the space become brighter as happiness love and joy enter.
Repeat:
“I banish and release all energies not aligned with my highest good. Be gone! Be gone! Be gone!
Let only love, joy and happiness enter”.
5. Be safe. Falling embers fall on the ground, can cause fires, stamp them out immediately. Never let the burning stick stay unattended for any reason. Also, take care not to inhale too much of the smoke.
6. Once you’re ready to extinguish the smudge stick, press the burning tip firmly into the sand of your bowl. Don’t use water to extinguish the sage as water will ruin the tip of your sage and make it harder to light next time.
